Yao-Jin Ke: Cellulose-Based Circular Polarized Organic Photoemitters for Optical Applications

Supervisors: Prof. Eero Kontturi and Prof. Eduardo Anaya
Aalto University

To develop cellulose-based materials that exhibit circularly polarized luminescence for advanced optical applications, particularly in 3D displays and data storage.

Main objectives:

  • Synthesize new dye molecules with extended absorption/emission spectra.
  • Embed these molecules into cellulose matrices to achieve circularly polarized light emission.
  • Characterize and optimize the resulting films for potential industrial applications.
