NaOH has high affinity towards cellulose. Cellulose can be used as a separation material in chromatography for alkaline mixtures (such as black liquor containing lignin and organic acids).
Main objectives:
- Understand sorption interactions in cellulosic adsorbents under alkaline conditions
- Identify and optimize the most promising process configurations
- Explore the demand for cellulose adsorbents across the industries and create new innovative solutions for challenging industrial separation tasks
