Jasmin Hertzberg: Fundamental understanding of cell-material interactions for nanocellulose hydrogels for tissue engineering

My research focuses on cellulose nanofibril -based hydrogels (CNFs) as biomaterial for tissue engineering. The aim is to develop and characterize CNFs to optimize their performance in 3D cell culture, and to understand the underlying cell-material interactions.

Main objectives:

• To develop 3D printable natural and anionic cellulose nanofibrils (CNF)
• To assess cell behavior in the hydrogels by measuring directly the cell–hydrogel interactions
• To improve the CNF hydrogels therapeutic properties for wound healing with additives
